The Gap
At the bottom where the door and floor almost met, a mouse drilled a hole. The effort to fill the hole and block the mouse from coming into the room took about one to two hours.
Looking at it from different perspectives: the persistent mouse found another way. The filling got no credit. The door, the floor, the mouse, and the filling — none of them exist today but the one who gave those hours still does.
And they now wonder if it were necessary to fix that gap, and many others.
